Two things I can't get enough of these days - the lining to my vintage army parka, with its quilting and super lightweight feel, and mixmatch prints/textures. i've gotten to the point where the more patterns in one outfit the better. This rule, of course, makes sense to me and me alone, why one combo works over another, but when I hit that right mix, it just feels so perfect. One little secret to getting older, you just don't give a shit anymore. I don't give a shit about what conventionally makes sense and what "works" and I certainly don't give two shits about what other people think. See? There is something to look forward to...

Speaking of getting old...with my birthday fast approaching next week, here is another wish list. Emphasis on wish...

Agent Provocateur ring // Ann Sofie Back satin asymmetric blouse
Neighborhood shirt // Celine black wedge
Horace linen shirt // Givenchy grey Pandora
Karla Spetic trousers // Alexander Wang coat
Rick Owens iPhone case // Ashish AW10 sequin shirt
Shakuhachi dress // Ann Demeulemeester triple lace talon boots
If anyone wants to surprise me with any of the above, email me and I'll provide you with my address...and then I'll act really really surprised. But in actuality, it wouldn't be acting, cause who would really send these? Nevermind. Happy Birthday to me!

I don't give a shit either. It feels incredibly rewarding, doesn't it? If someone buys you those Celine wedges and you just cant stand how amazing they are in person, can you please send them over my way. Thank you and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
oki, so now i want that iphone case...lol
btw, f** the rules, girl ;)
I know you're all old and shit and don't give a damn what others think, but I think you look fucking fantastic with the crazy patterns. I don't know if it's really your birthday, but if so, happy barfday. It's mine tomorrow, we're almost twins?
the best things are when they're unconventional and unpredictable!

ann s blouse, ann d boots, neighborhood shirt WANT :)
you look great as usual :)
that neighborhood shirt is killing me... I want it too!
nice list! and fantastic black flats. it's often so difficult for me to find sleek ones that just skim over the foot and show the perfect amount of foot cleavage ;P
I believe in layering prints as well...on others though. On me it looks like a fucking optical illusion gone wrong! I've always thought that Dries Van Noten does a particularly good job of layering colors & patterns that would normally merit a "what the hell", but end up clashing harmoniously! Even Marc Jacob's Spring09 collection did that incredibly well (just forget its MJ).
You are wearing THE snakeskin shirt i've been searching for. . . where oh where did you find it? and please don't say vintage. . . . happy fast approaching birthday!! xx
ohh I love my triple-lace ann d's .. and I've been coveting that Givenchy bag ever since it came out. It looks so good in black and army green as well. xo

Here-here!
That ring is beautiful. I hope it finds its way to you.
Happy Birthday!
anon - the flats are actually a really cheap suede pair from Steve Madden. I don't believe in paying $$$ for super plain basic shoes. These are perfection, at a super budget price!
That Ann Sofie Back blouse calls to me. Where on earth is it selling? I live in Hawaii and when you live in the most isolated land masses in the world, great clothing is hard to find.
Maile - it's no longer available, it's from AW08.
And ANOTHER happy belated. ;)
Your love of combination of prints, I'm also a fan... but it reminded me of a time when I was maybe 12 and I was on a family vacation at Walt Disney World. As we went through the boutiques on Pleasure Island, my mom was admiring/contemplating some mannequin outfit involving sunflower prints combined with ditsy calicos and maybe a bit of plaid and I moaned no, NO, NOOOO, you can't mix prints like that, sooooo ugly! I think I may have convinced her too well, because I can't imagine her wearing anything remotely that 'adventurous' now, she's all rose and sage and powder blue now. Anyway -- were the prints bad or was I just not ready for that next-level shite? I think they were bad. I cringe at my phase of wishing desperately for all matching sunflower decor in my bedroom - bedinabag, curtains, prints. Although that would be kind of wild as a kind of rompus room, like full on matching wallpaper and everything.
