THE MARK

Pixelman and I went to a wedding this past weekend for one of his friends. They actually got married in Italy, but had a second reception for friends/family at The Mark here in Los Angeles. They made their grand entrance under light sabers. Serious business.
There were three food stations. The first was a Chinese station with takeout boxes at the very end that had noodle and oriental salads. Neat idea. The second was an Italian station that I skipped in order to jump to the third station, which was a mashed potato bar!!! Mashed potato to start and then you got to add your own toppings like pot roast, veggies, shrimp, scallops, chives, and loads more. I'd never seen such a thing, it was super delicious fantastic times.
I always try to wear loose clothes to weddings so I can eat comfortably. I call it strategic eating.
Horace linen dress // F21 black tights // Chanel silver booties // Ann Sofie Back asymmetric biker poncho (last photo)

The dessert station was this little mini-donut making machine. Skip to the 0:30 second mark of the video below and this is what was going through my mind as I watched the donuts go down the little assembly line.

And then powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or chocolate powder to dust over the donuts.
And then this.

Go on wit' yo fine pixelated self.

Nice slip, lady. Whoops.

Tired face.

Mashed potato station sounds like heaven! I've only been to one wedding in my life and it was one of the most awkward, uptight events I have ever attended. If everyone made their weddings this much fun I would probably find myself sneaking into strangers' receptions...

This should have come with a warning disclaimer for really hungry individuals to approach with caution!

I've been eying up that horace shirt on asos for a while...it looks great on you!

Mashed potato station is one of the most outrageously amazing things I have ever heard. I'm going to start having one at every possible occasion. Birthdays, housewarmings, THANKSGIVING, and you bet I want one at my wedding.

I'm glad I can always count on you to post something that will both brighten my day and make me incredibly hungry.

MASHED POTATO BAR? Where does this exist? I've heard of the mac&cheese bar downtown, but I want pot roast on mashed up taters.

that wedding looks way more fun than any wedding i've ever attended. goes to show that weddings can actually be innovative and interesting versus stuffy and boring.

andthatcapeiseffingawesome. i'm sure you already know that, though ;-)

Omgod, omgod. I took a print screen of just your booties in that last picture and have it tiled across my desktop. It's motivation to study so that I can get a good career and buy kickass shoes like yours for the rest of my lifeeeee.

I'm with you on loose clothing for strategic eating. Nice... nice donut soundtrack, now its gonna be stuck in my head for a good few months and every time I go to a fair while waiting in line for my mini donuts LOL. I like cool weddings like pixelman's friend. Man, I hate "Oh, hiiii sweetie! Hello, **kiss kiss** How are you? It's been awhile?? What's new? Married yet? Kids?" kind of wedding. Ugh, so fake.
