GIVENCHY HAUTE COUTURE 2011

My mind has already been beaten into glorious submission by Givenchy under Tisci's rule and now I'm pretty much on auto-pilot zombie for any of his collections but this Haute Couture collection especially tugged on my little Asian heart strings. It's like something out of an epic period piece. I'm wishing someone would make a full length feature film just to see all these looks in action. How ethereal.
above - my favorite Asian model at the moment, Fei Fei Sun
above - another favorite, Tao Okamoto

They could use the looks from the last Haute Couture show (below right) and the film would be something like the battle between Good versus Evil...Light versus Dark...Mazinger Z versus Black Magic. With an insane female ensemble cast.

I mean can you IMAAAAGINE?!?!

i saw this collection earlier and i was completely blown away. i wasn't expecting what he presented at all! I was very delighted to see a new approach to Asian inspired designs. I mean he did it with out being too obvious, you know what I mean? soooo goood.

it is all so beautiful my eyes are melting. you're right, it needs to be part of a movie, or a very long dance piece- anything to see it all in action. you know, so many of these would be a great wedding dress for... anyone getting married some time this year...

A film for Sofia Coppola perhaps? ;)

OMG YES!!! Like fight scenes with high kicks and all them girls GLIDING through the air with zero care for gravity, totally emotionless face, not breaking a sweat at all... cold-hearted biznatches with all their classy but bad ass ninja moves WHILE WEARING THEM CLOTHES. Ugh... just brilliant. My creative juices were flowing... its flooding the room right now. LOL.

BEST FILM EVER. i feel so much asian pride right now, if i was wealthy beyond my wildest dreams, i'd just wear this as a homage to my heritage x

I loved your idea of making a film for these two collections! What a genius idea... The dresses are epic indeed, I can already imagine them on set in some remote forest, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" style... I linked you in my blog post http://paulatrendsets.wordpress.com/2011/03/05/the-one-dress-that-stole-my-heart-at-the-oscars/
