DAY IN THE LIFE

< in partnership with Nixon >

Have you seen Mr. Robot? You know the leader of the Dark Army who allots a certain number of minutes per appointment and sets an alert for each minute that passes? #goals amirite?

In the freelance world I’m accountable for my own schedule and workflow, so I can be maniacal about time. Maybe not Dark Army leader level, but I check it around 800x a day, which is why my phone can be more distracting than helpful. I’ll look at it for the time, but then there’s an Instagram notification so I check that real quick, and it reminds me of someone I forgot to text, so a quick hey hello turns into recommending an article that I, of course, have to bookmark to read later, and then oh crap, back to work! Five minutes later…wait, what time was it again? This is where a watch comes in handy.

Zara tee // Levi's jeans // Diemme slip on sneakers // Nixon Time Teller Acetate

Most mornings are grab-and-go for me. Whatever takes the least amount of thought - usually a tshirt and jeans, nothing too flashy. That's why the Nixon Time Teller Acetate in camo is the perfect fuss free watch for early errands. Some say leopard is a neutral, but I say camo is too, it goes with everything. Perfect for those busy mornings.

H&M shirt // Altamont jeans // Acne boots // Givenchy bag // Ray Ban sunglasses // Nixon 42-20 Chrono

Truth be told, I'm fortunate to not have much of a dress code at work. But every once in a while I do try to look presentable. The most I can muster is swapping out the grungey tees for a button down and boots in place of sneakers. To keep with the cleaner look I'd go with a chunky mens watch like the Nixon 42-20 Chrono and forego any other accessories. Keep it casual.

Zara tee // The Row coat // Theory trousers // Mansur Gavriel large wallet // Zara heels // Nixon Monopoly

Since the majority of my closet is black, I'm sure it's no suprise that my accessories are metals (not a lot of colorful gems or sparkly glittery things here). If my outfit is a bit crazier, I accessorize less and if my look is simple I'll be more generous with the jewelry. I'll usually round out my evening look with some gold or silver accents and when I can't decide, the two tone Nixon Monopoly makes it perfect for mixing both.
