SNOW CODE

Miu Miu boots (available here and here)

Prepping for my family trip to Korea couldn't have come at a better time than during the holiday sales. I was looking for an additional pair of boots that I could bring along (besides my Docs) that would be "dressier" but still able to withstand the snow and potential fair amount of walking. Patent leather 2" heel boots seem like a good answer. This is the one sale item I scored and I guess I could just count it as a Christmas gift to myself. Dreading packing but looking forward to my first real vacation in a loooong while!

MAD PLAID

Céline top via Zoë

I guess I just can't help myself with iconic or weird patterns. When this, now infamous, plaid came down the runway and everyone screamed holy laundry bags! I had a feeling I'd be on the prowl. After all, I'd always regretted not getting any of the foulard prints. And on the topic of foulard, as happy as I was for the overwhelming response towards the first run of skateboards a few years back, it was just that...overwhelming. I didn't really have any interest in doing anymore for a long while. Or at least until it felt right. And now fast forward two years, here I am again.

Available for a limited time, you can get them here. And pssst a very small quantity of the old ones.

Already looking forward to getting back into extremely lazy footwear for Spring. Anything bubbly leather and/or knotted leather... #alwaysreblog.

#24HoursWithNixon

9:30 AM
Zara tee // Levi's jeans // Diemme slip on sneakers // Nixon Time Teller Acetate

Most mornings are grab-and-go for me. Whatever takes the least amount of thought - usually a tshirt and jeans, nothing too flashy. That's why the Nixon Time Teller Acetate in camo is the perfect fuss free watch for early errands. Some say leopard is a neutral, but I say camo is too, it goes with everything. Perfect for those busy mornings.

12:00 PM
H&M shirt // Altamont jeans // Acne boots // Givenchy bag // Ray Ban sunglasses // Nixon 42-20 Chrono

Truth be told, I'm fortunate to not have much of a dress code at work. But every once in a while I do try to look presentable. The most I can muster is swapping out the grungey tees for a button down and boots in place of sneakers. To keep with the cleaner look I'd go with a chunky mens watch like the Nixon 42-20 Chrono and forego any other accessories. Keep it casual.

7:15 PM
Zara tee // The Row coat // Theory trousers // Mansur Gavriel large wallet // Zara heels // Nixon Monopoly

Since the majority of my closet is black, I'm sure it's no suprise that my accessories are metals (not a lot of colorful gems or sparkly glittery things here). If my outfit is a bit crazier, I accessorize less and if my look is simple I'll be more generous with the jewelry. I'll usually round out my evening look with some gold or silver accents and when I can't decide, the two tone Nixon Monopoly makes it perfect for mixing both.

WINTER UNIFORM

River Island coat // J Crew sweater // Cheap Monday jeans // Sigerson Morrison boots // Mansur Gavriel bag // The Row sunglasses

Really trying to squeeze in every opportunity to wear a coat, even if it means going out after sun down. And let's make note of my uniform lately - black skinny jeans + pointy flat ankle boots + any combo up top.

AUDITORY ACCESSORIES

I seem to be going through a heavy jewelry phase. What feels like the first in a long time. You might recall I went nuts over a certain ginormous shark tooth, but since then have been pretty minimal (read: lazy) with accessories. I guess since my recent collaboration I've been motivated to wear more jewelry, and with wearing more jewelry comes buying more jewelry. So far just the Dior pearls, but luckily this ear cuff came earlier than expected and now I think I am satisfied. For 2013 at least...only 30 more days, crazy!

MAISON DES REVERIES

My dear friend Gennie, of Maison des Rêveries, saved me from certain hypothermia last time I was in NY, with one of her insane leather scarves. It's the best (and certainly coolest) scarf I've ever owned and I've been trying to wear it any time there has been even the slightest chill. My favorite part is the magnetic closure. Would be a shame to ruin the fluid design with a button snap or hook/eye situation. If there's one necessary winter accessory that falls into the badass category, this is it. You can get them in time for the holidays here.
