i haven't had many in california, but i was just reminded of L'Aduree over christmas when my cousin came home from paris and brought some back! i pretty much inhaled those suckers and then had to find some in LA. There's a place called Boule that gives L'Aduree a run for its money.
i highly recommend the pistachio, huckleberry, and lavender vanilla.

Finally tried these for the first time last year... at a party, some Trader Joes ones, way too sweet but still edible. Then better ones from a French bakery in the Bay Area, CA but they were teeeeeeeny tiiiiiny... not sure if that was a normal diameter? Only about 1.25" across.
Anyway, I want to try making them!
Never noticed the differentiation of the two macar-s by the O-spellings! Duh...
