THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE

Here I am! In the new Vogue September issue!

Growing up reading Vogue and being a middle class nobody kid from the 'burbs, you would never imagine you'd one day see yourself in one of the world's biggest fashion publications. I mean beyond that, you could never specifically imagine why or how you could be in it, but I'm proud that it would be my merged love of skateboarding and fashion that would land me a spot in the most important issue of the year.

Vogue contacted me a few months ago to work with seven American designers - Diane Von Furstenberg, Alexander Wang, Narciso Rodriguez, Olivier Theyskens, Rag & Bone, Thakoon, and Tory Burch - to create decks based on a print story from each designer's Fall 2012 collection. It was an honor to be asked by Vogue of course, but the greatest source of pride is being profiled in association with the sport of skateboarding. It's given me a lot so I'll forever give back.

Skateboards may soon evolve into a "fashion essential"; people will start wearing them in place of "it" bags, and all will later end an elegy. Although, when they look this good, I really don't mind(they're amazing!)....

As someone who grew up in the same generation of Thrasher and Big Brother as yourself whilst reading Vogue, I wanna say congratulations!!!! I'm an admirer that you've meshed both the lifestyle with high fashion and not in a generic or commercial way. This is something to be so proud of and you so deserve it!

It's so inspiring to see talented and creative people being rewarded for doing what they do and being themselves. I love your style, but mostly your attitude... it comes across in the clothes you wear and the words you post and that's why I keep coming back. This is extremely well-deserved and all of your readers are incredibly stoked for you!

I have no words. THIS IS AMAZING!! Congrats!!

this is so well-deserved, and I love every aspect of this feature!!! Congrats, lady!!

Congratulations! This is so entirely amazing. I've been a silent follower of your blog for some time, and have been perpetually in awe of your relaxed and effortless approach and presentation. Thank you for bringing skateboarding to a whole new light. I recently went to a screening of Stacy Peralta's new documentary "Bones Brigade". During a Q & A, he was passive-aggressively accused of bastardizing skate culture. Without skipping a beat, he responded that he had helped make an exclusive culture fun and accessible to people who would have otherwise felt alienated by it. I feel like your work is so on par with his mentality. Accordingly, I had to thank and congratulate you. Once again, thank you.

This is so great Jayne! As your semi-quiet but loyal reader I feel very very excited about this, as if I were seeing a close friend pop up in Vogue . They are weird, these vague through-the-internets connections, aren't they? :)

Cool! I guess why I saw a lot of skateboards in your blog, I didn't know that you were a skateboard-apparel designer (if I understood well). I think we could see a little bit in your attitude, with in a feminine version.
