SCENTS AND SENSIBILITY

Astier de Villatte Aoyama candle // Santa Maria Novella Rose Water

Little things like this make all the difference in keeping my neurotic ass grounded and calm at home.

SAFE HOUSE USA

I'm not much of a home decor person, but one of my guilty pleasures is sheet/duvet sets. A stockpile of sheets is pretty much essential to any household with germaphobe OCD and/or dogs ruling the bed and/or a combination of both. It's more difficult than one would think to find non-floral, non-shabby chic, cool linens though. But now that I've discovered SAFE HOUSE, it's safe to say* I know where I'll be getting my next (four) sets from.

I'm sort of not really into clothes these days. Actually anything at all these days. Other than the chicken and fries I'm about to decimate for lunch. But home goods are usually my default browse stuff when I need a good distraction (which I never do, I need less distractions). These towels are stirring up that ol' need/want/obsessed/every-other-blogger-adjective in me.

NE apartments, Tokyo

if i ever decide to pick up and move again, i've found my potential new home. architects Yuji Nakae, Hirofumi Ohno, and Akiyoshi Takagi have built an eight unit complex built in a C-shape for motorcycle enthusiasts. tenants enter from a communal "alley" and park inside their apartments, which are equipped to hold their bikes in the bottom level. leave it to the japanese to always come up with the coolest shit. bikes + good design = sign me up.
